Disappointed
This scanner was a problem had to reprogram it numerous times. It would work fine for a couple of days then not at all.

For me, I wanted to be able to program some of my local frequencies and listen. It takes a bit more than this.

BC-246T Works great
The BC-246 works great. It took me a little while to figure out how to set up the local trunking system, but after a few hours I had all the local Freqs installed.

NOT APCO-25 capable!!!!!!!
I agree with all positive reviews here — great unit for the price.
However make sure you’re area doesn’t use APCO-25 (P-25), this item will be worthless to you…

This scanner was very easy to take out of the box, put the batteries in, input a frequency...and listen. It is a nice design and mostly user friendly.
